devela is a forest cover and at the meeting point of the two monsoons, the area receives a tremendous amount of rainfall - an estimated 1900 - 2000 mm per year. The town of Devala in Gudalur taluk is known as "the second Cherrapunji", for no other town in India . devala has got 3050mm of rain in swm . but sholayar has got more rainfall ! may be it will be wettest sholayar,coimbatore- 3745 mm (till 25/8/13)
